Many sites say v8 of the WRT-54G routers cannot be flashed with DD-WRT. Luckily there are now ‘official’ guides for the dd-wrt site for v8 routers: Update : Since writing this post in 2008 Linksys have produced v8.1 and v8.2 routers which may not be compatible with the instructions here.
